Privacy Policy
Last updated · June 2026
Tracé is built to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what is collected when you use trace.wuhan.dev, and — just as importantly — what is not.
Your GPS tracks never leave your browser
When you upload a track, it is parsed and rendered entirely on your device. We do not receive, upload, transmit, or store your track files. Closing the tab discards them.
Map tiles
To draw maps, your browser requests public map tiles through our caching proxy. These requests necessarily include the map area being viewed so the correct tiles can be returned. We use short-lived caching to improve performance and reduce load on upstream providers; we do not use tile requests to build a profile of you or to identify you.
Preferences
We store your theme and language choices in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers them between visits. These never leave your device and are not tracking cookies.
Analytics
If we use analytics, we use only privacy-respecting, aggregate measurement that does not identify individual visitors. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
Because we hold essentially no personal data about you, there is little to request — but you can always email us with any privacy question or request, and we will respond.
Children
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
