Terms of Service

Last updated · June 2026

Welcome to Tracé (“Tracé”, “we”, “us”). These Terms of Service govern your use of the Tracé website and editor at trace.wuhan.dev (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

Tracé is a browser-based tool that renders GPS tracks you provide into map-art posters. Designing and previewing your poster is free. You may optionally purchase a one-time unlock to export a high-resolution, watermark-free file. There is no account and no subscription.

Your tracks and content

You retain all rights to the GPS tracks you upload. Your track files are parsed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any track you upload, and that doing so does not violate anyone’s rights or any law.

Posters and licensing

When you unlock a poster, you receive a personal, worldwide licence to use, print, frame, and share the exported file for personal or commercial purposes. Map data shown in the art styles is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database Licence (ODbL), and exported posters carry the required attribution. Interactive basemaps from third-party providers are shown for on-screen preview only and are not part of the file you purchase.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service.
  • Do not use the Service to create or distribute unlawful or infringing content.
  • Do not resell or redistribute the Service itself as your own.

Payments

Purchases are handled by our third-party payment provider acting as the merchant of record. Prices are shown at checkout in US dollars and may change over time. Applicable taxes are determined and collected by the provider. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Availability and warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tracé is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
